NGS Webinar January 2025

Save the date: 23.01.2025 at 11:00

We are happy to announce that Aleksandra Galitsyna from the MIT will give a talk on Chromatin Remodeling in Dendritic Cell Biology.

Dendritic cells (DCs) serve as key mediators between innate and adaptive immunity by capturing antigens and presenting them to T and B cells. Recent advances in epigenetics have revealed that chromatin architecture and remodeling play a pivotal role in regulating DC differentiation, activation, and function. In this talk, we explore the dynamic chromatin landscape of DCs, discussing how fundamental processes like loop extrusion and activation of transcription factors influence gene expression programs essential for immune surveillance and activation in response to an antigen. We will review emerging technologies such as Hi-C, ATAC-seq, and CUT&RUN that allow for high-resolution mapping of chromatin structure, accessibility, and histone marks in DCs, untangling the interplay between chromatin state and DC functional specialization. By highlighting recent discoveries in fundamental chromatin biology, the presentation aims to underscore how targeted interventions in DCs could open new avenues for understanding how the immune system works.
